ChLPS Canada operates under a robust governance structure, where a dedicated Board of Directors collaborates seamlessly with an experienced Association Management Team. This strong partnership forms the backbone of our organizational oversight—ensuring strategic direction, ethical leadership, sound decision-making, and operational efficiency.

Management Team
In conjunction with the Board of Directors, ChLPS Canada is supported by a dynamic team of association professionals. With backgrounds in nonprofit management, education, finance, and industry-specific expertise, this team ensures the smooth and strategic day-to-day operation of the Association.
Managing certifications, member services, communications, and internal operations.
Organizing conferences, webinars, and training opportunities to foster engagement and learning.
Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure fiscal health.
Building partnerships with industry leaders, sponsors, and government bodies.
Supporting the Board with research, planning, and execution of long-term initiatives.
Ensuring high-quality service and value delivery to all members and certification holders.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of respected leaders and practitioners in the fields of loss prevention, corporate security, and risk management. Elected by our membership, the Board is responsible for:
- Defining and maintaining the Association’s strategic direction
- Approving policies, certifications, and governance frameworks
- Upholding professional standards and the code of ethics
- Monitoring trends and guiding thought leadership within the industry
Through regular meetings, consultations, and oversight, the Board ensures ChLPS Canada remains at the forefront of advancing excellence, innovation, and professional development in Canada’s loss prevention landscape.

Joseph Okpotu
Vice Chairman, Board of Directors
A management development trainer and manpower development expert, Joe is a subject matter expert and a go to person in global security training and certifications. He describes himself as the best in security certifications and education in Africa and the world at large. His key strength is in physical security operations, private investigations, incident and compliance investigation, journey management, executive protections and risk assessment among other things to mitigate against key business risk.
His other competencies include guard force management, security stakeholders' liaisons, security threat & vulnerability analysis, corporate security education, security awareness, risk assessment. appropriate cost-effective countermeasures, security budgeting & service level agreement management. He is currently the Lead Trainer and Chief Executive Officer with Certifications andTraining Consulting.
Joseph holds an Advanced Diploma in Security Operations & Management (ADSOM), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Human Resources Management. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (ACIPM) and a Certified Member of the Association of Chartered Loss Prevention Specialists of Canada.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Security (Switzerland), an Associate Degree in Accountancy, a Postgraduate Certificate in Forensic Accounting & Fraud Examination (Seneca College, Canada), a Graduate Certificate in Risk Management (York University, Canada), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Finance & Corporate Strategy, and a Master of Science (MSc.) Degree in International Security and Risk Management (University of West London, UK). He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Management - (Corporate Security Business Management).
Adegbenga has distinct expertise in internal audit & control, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, fraud & forensic Investigations, anti-money laundering investigations, general corporate security operations, corporate intelligence, investigations, security risk management, enterprise risk management, incident management, business continuity management, leadership of cross-functional teams, training & learning management, among others. He is a multi-skilled and multi-disciplinary professional with specialization in Corporate Security Management, Loss Prevention, Business Resilience, Business Analysis, Anti Money Laundering, and Supply Chain Security. He has over fifteen years' hands-on industry experience spread across banking, financial services, logistics and consulting.
He is a subject matter expert in his fields, and his expertise enables him to build and share his knowledge in designing various training programs in Corporate Security Management, Loss Prevention, Supply Chain Security, Strategic Management, IT/Cybersecurity Audit, Change Management, Business Analysis, Fraud Examination, and Anti-Money Laundering Strategies in many jurisdictions across the globe.
A Certified and Accredited Trainer with both The CPD Group-UK and the Global Compliance Institute (GCI) Australia, He is also a Professional Member (MSyI) of The Security Institute, United Kingdom; Certified Member of the International Security Organization (ISO-KLG), Switzerland, and Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT), United Kingdom. He is the Lead Faculty and Trainer at Guardmaster Institute of Corporate Security Management Canada, and Team Lead at Guardmaster Consulting Canada.
